Child Advocacy and Empowerment Workshops

AOG WORLD RELIEF, VIETNAM: Violence against children (be it physical, sexual, or emotional abuse, neglect, or exploitation) remains a persistent and pervasive global issue. Pre-pandemic statistics estimated that up to 1 billion children aged between 2-17 years experience some form violence each year, perpetrated by parents or other caregivers, peers, romantic partners, and/or strangers. The current number is unknown. The negative impacts of experiencing such violence can be lifelong and influence one’s health, sense of security, and wellbeing.

AOGWR Vietnam is responding to this critical need by advocating to end all forms of violence against children by facilitating Child Advocacy & Empowerment Workshops and the support of a Child Support Hotline.

These practical and engaging workshops are facilitated in schools, health centres, and other community spaces to raise awareness and educate people on the importance of ending all forms of violence against children and prioritising their empowerment, acknowledging that violence against children not only harms the child but also the family and the wider community by undermining their capacity and capability.
