Child beggars school support staff
M & R, GEORGIA:Our staff work with trauma-affected Azerbaijani Muslim Kurdish children who are forced to beg on the streets to support their families. We operate a part-time school for them as their parents oppose them going to local schools. Our Christian teachers are gifted and caring. However, while our many foreign volunteers all have adequate incomes, our Georgian and Kurdish workers don’t. These workers are essential as they speak very relevant languages for our students. While these staff members have worked as volunteers for a while due to their caring hearts, we are aware that they have bills to pay also. We would like to remunerate them for their time which could be otherwise spent in paid work.
Our school employs 4 local Christian staff part-time, who supplement the volunteers we have to run our Kurdish school ministry. These people are teachers and a cook that serve alongside us faithfully. To fund these teachers, we need to raise AU$11,000.
If you would like to cover or contribute to the cost of a specific teacher, contact us and we can provide a photo and details of the teacher. You can then also support them in prayer.
